Aron Thompson directing Jonathan James for Welcome to Wonderland.
The Film
On returning from the Edinburgh film festival, Aron Thompson began work on his first feature length film, Welcome to Wonderland. On the merit of Aron’s first Eleven short films, Aron was given inside help but in the end constructed the entire film on his own.
Holding down a full time job after leaving his office job. He gave up his high pressured career as a web designer to work on this film. Everything imaginable went on behind the scenes, including the production falling a part for what felt like the 20th time, this was due to not finding an actor to play Faith.
A controversial role no one would play, it turned out at the airport Aron worked, one of his colleuges was pursuing a career in acting and his ambitions met up with the ambitions of Aron. This is just one of the many tales that went into making this film.
Production is now over and the film is ready to be released, so keep your eyes open. Aron is now working on a film called loser.
Plot
Aron never explains what his films are about, believing in the magic of cinema. But the plot reads as follows… A creator with no ideas is told by god to create his story, in his created story the world is ending in six days. Each day a human at the front of one of the six human staples, Youth, Faith, Intelligence, Love, Fame and Death is facing their own mortality. There’s also a bag in contention for one lucky human to win.
